About

ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Kerri Sells, I'm a qualified Integrative Counsellor offering therapy for individuals.

Like many I have a good understanding of how life can become too much, emotions can become overwhelming and we do not know which way to turn. This may be unsettling and sometimes we may feel lost. Sometimes an ear is all we need, a safe and confidential space offering acceptance, allowing us to process and heal.

I'm a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have experience working with both young people and adults, including working alongside those who are neurodiverse.

I'm also a qualified group facilitator offering creative workshops in a group setting for schools and within the community.

How I work

Deciding to start therapy can be a daunting idea and I appreciate finding the right counsellor can be overwhelming.

Within our work it's my belief that the counselling relationship is key, and I look to provide a warm and accepting environment, whereby you feel seen and heard. At the start of your journey we will look to build the trust between us and explore what makes a safe environment for you. We will work collaboratively exploring what brings you to counselling, managing your expectations and any goals you might have. I believe in your autonomy and encourage feedback throughout the process about how you feel this is going.

There is no time limit to the number of sessions you might have, and we'll be working at your own pace.

I believe everyone is unique in their journey and how they experience life. Being an Integrative counsellor means I can work in a variety of ways, enabling me to adapt to what best suits you as an individual.

There is an invitation to work creatively during our sessions, however I appreciate that this may not be for everyone and there is no obligation to do so. I have found working this way has been beneficial to me personally, enabling me to work at a deeper level, find new ways of expression and connect with my inner child. You might consider this way of working as it helps access another part of your brain, giving access to the unconscious. It also creates a visual aid, helping to process feelings in another medium. You may find this method playful and in some cases, like anxiety, therapeutic.
