FAQS

What type of counselling will I be having?

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a blend of techniques to support emotional, relational and personal growth. This includes talking therapies alongside somatic and creative practices, helping to connect mind and body, bringing deeper insight and healing. I specialise in trauma informed therapy, using a blended approach that incorporates elements of person-centred, psychodynamic, internal family systems and attachment-based theories. This allows me to tailor sessions to meet your unique needs. My approach prioritises safety and collaboration in every session.

What issues do you work with?

I specialise in trauma and its impact on emotional wellbeing, including work with inner child healing, family dynamics and relational patterns. I support clients navigating grief, challenging relationships, triggers and self esteem. While my focus is on relational and development experiences, I welcome anyone seeking support for emotional growth, understanding patterns in their life or managing difficult feelings.

How do I book a session?

You can contact me by phone or email. I recommend a free consultation call to discuss your expectations and answer questions you might have.

What can I expect from my first session?

The first session will be set up a little different in that we will spend time discussing the confidentiality, your goals and the approach to working together.

How much does it cost?

It costs £60 for a 50 minute counselling hour payable  via BACS. Please note I request payment in advance to secure your booking.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. Everything you share in counselling is treated with strict confidentiality. Your sessions are safe space for exploring feeling, relationships and experiences without judgement.

There are a few exceptions, which are required by law or ethical guidelines. These include situations where there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or where disclosure is required by court order. In these rare case, I will always discuss any steps with you first whenever possible.

How do I know it's right for me?

Counselling is different from advice giving. Rather than telling you what to do, I provide a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts, feelings and patterns. Together, we work to help you understand yourself, make sense of experiences, and develop your own tools for coping, decision-making and growth.

How long are the sessions, how often should I attend and how many sessions should I have?

Session length last 50 mins. I recommend attending weekly or biweekly to reach your goals.

I work open ended, meaning that there is no set amount of sessions to attend. You can attend for as long as you feel it's helpful and we work together to decide the pace, focus and the length of your therapy.

What happens if I need to cancel?

I understand that life can be unpredictable. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please give at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations / reschedules made within less than 24 hours may be charged in full.
